Is this actually a "feature" as opposed to a bug? Have I missed a reason why this is?
If you mean incorrect direction - no, there is no reason. It's just detail devs didn't consider.

I've noticed that the game quits if you try to talk to someone who is wounded. I get no error message or anything, it just drops me to the desktop + i have to restart the computer to get the game working again (double clicking the .exe does nothing, all other programs works).
Anyone else has this bug? I use the latest patch.

It is probably still running as a task after the crash occurs.

vurt, it's a known bug of 05, just don't talk to wounded.
You always can read the log via Ctrl-V in any text editor after crash.

Really? I'm pretty sure I had a chat with a wounded guy very early in the game, and nothing bad seemed to happen. I haven't played CS further than that for 2 days due to some computer issues (data loss after a driver install, CS managed to fuck up DirectSound that I use with my fav music player, etc.). Once I get back to the swamps I'll check it out further and try to replicate the crash, though hoping that it won't crash of course. :p

Maybe it really concerns only a certain wounded, I'm not sure, I just read about the problem a few times, never tried to talk to any of them in CS.

I just arrived to Cordon and so far I'm loving the game. The Swamps did seem annoying at first, with all the radioactive poodles and pockets, but once I learned the "structure" I could navigate pretty easily.
But I'm kind of angry right now, I got myself a SPAS shotgun at one of the enemy camps, but got killed by a sneaky bastard. I had forgot to save so I had to do the fight again, but never found the SPAS on the second attempt. :o I had to settle for 300+ shotgun ammo and a hunting rifle.

Bandages seems bugged too, they don't stop the bleeding at all for me.
Weapons are just silly, 8 headshots with the pistol doesnt do shit (pretty close range). I just remembered how much i hated the original Stalker unmodded hehe.. I'll probably wait for a few more patches or wait for some mod to fix the gameplay.

Hopefully they will fix that fucking turret part at the start of Cordon, the guy controlling it has pinpoint accuracy with an automatic weapon and can see so well in the near-pitch black night that he puts Sam Fisher and his headgear to shame.
After many attempts I got past it with the help of 4 medkits and a now-sweaty X button.
