Well there is no performance discrepancy between CS and Crysis on my system. Crysis on very high runs worse than CS here...

you're on vista too, with DX10?
Briareos H on 16/9/2008 at 19:52
Nope DX9 / XP, as I mentioned.

ok, that would explain it.

same here:
xp sp3 dual 3ghz
4gb ram
8800 gts
1680x1050
dx9
all high
~ 30fps which is acutaly for my taste already too bad but I hope for some patches or even a new nvidia driver to help me out. if nothing helps I'm gonna go lower and for 45fps, 60 would be a dream with this setup it seems.
I even had in mind to go vista for clear sky but somehow it just isn't worth the effort as I just had a vista notebook at home and it had horrible problems although patches up to all the latest drivers.

I just found out that the game starts out with very low FPS, it's the same for everyone, but after the morning has passed and the sunrays are gone the fps is more normal (around 30 FPS in DX10 mode on my PC). I also turned down sunrays to medium.
will be interesting to see the DX10 wet surfaces and smoke, see how it handles that..

Crysis is notorious for requiring a lot of VRAM, hence whilst Stalker SoC and CS (DX9, after tweaking) run just fine on my 320MB (aargh again) 8800GTS, Crysis is horrible above 1024x768.
However if anyone here in the UK wants my card I'll sell it for £80! :p

That's what I talked about, it's like 2 times faster after sun is up enough.

you almost get a new HD 4850 for that and that card is even faster, but i guess you were joking. The new ATI cards are really great, there has never been so fast gfx cards out for such a low price. Nvidia really needs to lower their prices almost by half heh.. Serves them right :ebil:
