I'm glad I wasn't going crazy.

I tried to run Special Vintage with GL and it deleted my Thief 3 directory (or rather, 98% of the files within it)... I did not have T3ed installed, though, if that makes a difference (I haven't read the thread guys, I didn't understand it).
Strange thing was, though, GL was naming about 20% of the missions "In Search of Leon" (a Christine mission I have in my FM directory), and when I'd click on them, I'd get Christine's html file. Sometimes, after clicking on a mission it would change into its proper name/html file, but many would not change from "Leon". Special Vintage was one of these missions that was stuck in Leon (apparently it was affecting T3 fms as well as T2s). I have no idea what the problem is.

Aja, did you use version 1.11 at any point and did you have your save games folder inside you thief folder and are you using version 1.12 now? If so this may explain the deletion (the save game settings were incorrect). If not then are you able to post me you GarrettLoader.ini file so that I can see if your settings are correct?
For info there are 6 phases that GL goes trough that deal with adding and removing files.
1) the FMs zip files are zipped up starting from the initial root found via the registry. Then they are deleted (this is possibly where the problem arose)
2) the previously installed FM is removed using the current_install.txt file (only the files inside there are removed as they are removed name by name), if not Current_install.txt is found it is assumed to be the original game installed.
3) The original_backup.zip contents are restored if one exists.
4) the new FM zip file is scanned and cross referenced against files that already exist and if any are found they are marked to be backed up.
5) Files marked to be backed up are then backed up into the original_backup.zip
and the FM is then extraced.
6) Any save games found for the newly installed FM are also then restored.
There is only 1 real part that unnamed file deletion occurs and thats in point 1 which is most likely to be where the issue lies.

Someone else was reporting that (for the same FM), although I am sure it was fixed for version 1.12 but most certainly for version 1.21 that I am working on.

This was more to do with the fact that Special vintage did not have a properly readable readme file, it was lacking:
Game: Thief Deadly Shadows
Mission Title: Special Vintage
Author: GonchongThis would explain why the name was not picked up.

Unfortunately I uninstalled GarrettLoader after the incident, just to be safe. I don't have the INI file. However, I'll install it again (and it WAS version 1.12) as soon as I get Thief 3 reinstalled. If the problem occurs again, I'll send you the .ini file.
My savegames folder was inside my Thief 3 directory, though I altered it using the registry tweak in the ThiefGen FAQ before I ever installed GarrettLoader.

Ok potterr, sorry I haven't had a chance to test this out but I wanted to do a flatten/install to make sure I had a clean slate to work with. The .exe you sent me worked like a charm, I finished all of Krellek's Labyrinth and it ran very well, with all the custom stuff (including the objectives).
What's the ETA of a new version? Also Gonchong, do we have a new version of Special Vintage?

Well :erg: if you're refering to Labyrinth everybody'll have to stick w/0.8 for now. I'll have less time to work on it starting tomorrow & I just flubbed it up while experimenting with objectives :p

Yeah, I meant version
s[/b, as in both Labyrinth and GarrettLoader. For the time being I can include the fixed .exe in the download I'll be making for GarrettLoader, but for Krellek's Labyrinth I'll probably just let people know that it works fairly well with some minor glitches. Besides, it's a beta, if anyone complains I will cut them.

I guess it's a buggy feature of the conversations.

I still have a large amount to do for it, but I certain I can finish it by then, I am looking to beta test it in just over a weeks time.

New (final) version of Special Vintage complete. I'll upload it tonight. Interestingly I used Garrettloader's own Readme tool, and it still didn't pick up the author and FM name properly.
