It actually is tiny. That is a real issue.
No, I'm sorry, you're correct.
I understand that maps like this actually stop mappers being able to make maps that are large or which don't have a place in these ill defined bits of art. I heard the reason Thief 3 has such small levels was that they all had to fit into the map, and if you tried making them any bigger the editor would crash and a flock of crows would hunt your family for their flesh.

I have to admit the possible return of the Haunted Cathedral, and that sanatorium have definitely piqued my interest.

no sign of the Pagans or the Hammerites, and so on.
One person said a newspaper mentions the Baron kicking out old religions, the church the Queen of Beggars lives in has a hammer in the glass (is this THC?) and I recall someone once said Garrett mentions the Trickster.
Note I cannot right now recall which person said these, but the church can be seen in the QoB trailer.
Also, could still be a reboot even with those things if Garrett hasn't met the Trickster but knows of him as an old god etc.

I think you have things a bit mixed up, as "all had to fit into the map" is not a reason that makes much sense in game programming. The levels had to be small because with all of the fancy lighting, the video game console running the game would crash otherwise (You're running it on a beefy PC? Oh well, you get the same version). Combine that with a map that implied that these tiny areas composed most of the city, and you end up with a very small city. I hate how tiny the areas are anyway, but to compensate they shouldn't have implied that they represented the entire districts. That made things even worse. They should have implied that they were small "points of interest" within much larger districts and a much larger city. The first two games did a better job of that.

Dude, I'm talking about a flock of crows that will hunt your family if you make a map that is too big.
Think about it.

Yeah, Plat, he's being sarcastic. It's fairly obvious.

I'm not Plat, I just jumped in on the conversation.
Sorry for being thick, my sarcasm meter is very shoddy!

My point is that the story isn't starting over at the beginning.
Uno momento por favor, are you suggesting that the way Looking Glass Studios presented Garretts eye being removed is not as good as whatever NuThief has cooked up? We reboot from the beginning (just like the original!), where he was *cough* an orphan, then all of his experiences with The Trickster, and The Hammers, and all of that is simply gone, and there is a better reason for him to end up losing an eye. Okay, impress me NuTeam. Prove that your idea is better than Looking Glass. Dont talk to me about "you cant have demos these days, thats just doing it wrong" crap. Might and Magic X catered to every little whim the fans mustered up right down to being included in the game development itself. But then, MM was traditionally infamous for having a loose relationship with its fans. :) Why do I bother mention another video game series in a thread about Thief you ask?

Deus Ex Human Revolution did that well too. How ridiculous would it have been if the game implied that the first hub was supposed to be the entire city of Detroit?
