Seems to have died again as far as I know. No new posts in the forums in months.

I thought you and "Bob" were on the brink of actually finishing med?

I've had very little free time since mid August- or more precisely very little free time which is using for ShockEd, ie an hour+ at a time. I've been removing architecture progressively from cyberspace to try and get the transparent walls working as much as possible and trying to stop a couple of annoying bugs (with the current system AI can get sucked into the corridors so have a tendency to end up where they shouldn't), but that hardly makes for a thrilling update.

LONG LIVE THE TRANSPARENT WALLS :D

That sounds like an awful lot of work, but it's good to know that someone is still working on it :thumb:

I just started back on it as well. Right now I'm verifying Med's basic object layout.
Of course, I also discovered in the process that Ctrl-E doesn't get me out of Game Mode anymore, which means I have to quit the game the normal way (which is bad for ShockED, or so I've heard). So I'm going to poke around here for an answer to that.

Not in the CCP forum anyway. Stupid spambots.

Not that it makes much difference, since you can't continue after editing in ShockEd anyway. Might as well just Alt+F4 out of it and start it up again.

True, but I remember reading somewhere that for some reason it's a bad idea to quit normally as opposed to returning to Edit Mode. Might've even been in the (un)official tutorial.
Plus, the loading time is slightly faster if ShockED is already open.
Nameless Voice on 17/10/2008 at 01:05
The load times are about the same for me, apart from the 1-2 second delay to reopen ShockEd.
I think the reason that it's bad to just quit DromEd is because you lose what you were working on, from a Thief DromEd perspective, at least. I've never heard of anything bad happening from it - but then, I haven't used ShockEd very much, so maybe there's some problem specific to that version of the editor?
