Isn't there that one? On Deck 5'er?
You mean Anna Parovsky? No, you just find her corpse. A fresh corpse, I admit, but still a sedentary corpse. She died minutes before Mr. Hacker came to her rescue. I'm afraid it was too late to save his friends...

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Not only the camera cannot move while you look through it, but you'll have to stop walking while looking into your sensearound. And you couldn't look forward while looking into the sensearound.
Hmm. Rats.

Yes, it's a very good idea, but someone will have to work on that. Is any of you good enough with organic modelling to pull this off?
I'm not good at
any kind of modelling, unfortunately. :(

What if....and this is just an idea...is it possible to have the entire screen full of monitors such that you think you are moving just like normal but in fact you are looking into a monitor which is showing something else move...and also you'd have part of the screen filled with monitors showing behind you etc. So there'd be no true regular view but just a bunch of monitors mimicing real movement + sensaround?

Um.....
Assuming such a setup is possible (though I doubt it), how would you turn Sensaround off?
Now that I've thought about it a little, having Sensaround with the Dark Engine really makes no sense. *rimshot* In SS1 it did, because there was no mouselook, and it took a second to turn completely around to look behind you. In SS2 however, with mouselook, it takes less than half a second to look behind you. If Sensaround can't be done, it really wouldn't affect the gameplay, just make it a little less like the original. If it
can be done, but only with a very elaborate setup (such as RocketMan's), then maybe you shouldn't bother with it, at least not until the rest of the Conversion is done.
My two cents.

..o-key,dloaded the file,unzipped to a mod-friendly install of SS2..and what next?

I've procured Nameless Voice help in both scripting (yes, we're going to have CUSTOM SCRIPTS, and many of them, possibly a new implant interface and REAL hand-thrown grenades! All thanks to him!) and Cyborg production; I've also gotten a script from Telliamed which allows the player to look through a camera, ALA SS1's Observation Rooms.
Are all of you who've signed for this project still working on it? Level editing, mayhap? Texture work?
JediKorenchkin on 30/5/2005 at 07:45
*coughs and looks around the room*
I've been...detained through work and sickness. I'm really counting on being bogged down clear through to August.
Although, I don't see there being all that much for me to do right now anyway. Much of the lighting, even for the first level, needs textures before I can determine what looks good. The only thing there would be for me to do now would be object placement, and even that, there's only so much that can be done.

I'm pretty sure I've asked this before, but I forget the response. Why aren't you guys using the SS1 MIS files from the TSSHP page? They look perfect.

We are.

You are? Have you always been? I could have sworn I've read posts describing efforts to rebuild levels from scratch. And the few screenshots I've seen always have nothing but SS2 textures.
