Sounds a bit like a prison nightmare to me.
Heston was certainly an iconic force. His acting may have been one dimensional but unique and unmistakable, a hammer of a man hammering out statements you better bygod believe. We'll not see his like again and I'll miss him. A glorious dinosaur indeed.

Sincerely his career didn't decline, it was the last batch of movies that were incredibly behind with the times in scifi technology and ambience, the omega man, soylent green, they couldn't compare to dark star (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069945/) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069945/, silent running (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067756/) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067756/, 2001 a space odyssey (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/, from the same era give or take.
He stopped doing bad movies, but he could had done some work on better ones.

All honor to his films and former liberal deeds. RIP...
By the way, is it just my imagination or a real coincidence, that conservatives get Alzheimer more easily than liberals? Um, nevermind.

Certainly he'll be missed by gun nuts and generations of film aficionados alike, whereas the next guy in line will be missed for, what, "Cat Scratch Fever"? Yeah, good luck with that, Ted.

love him or hate him, at least he was a man in hollywood. very very rare.
You will be missed Mr Heston :(

Because men don't look like men on film usually. You have to tape a bunch of gymnasts together, or failing that women.
(ok poor taste perhaps. My feelings are about the same as GBMs for the record)

I've always had the same amount of respect for Charleton Heston as an actor and a person as I have had utter disdain for his acting and his politics. If that makes sense.
Until recently he was actually pretty famous for being a champion of racial equality. I think he just lost it in later life but he had a political history to be proud of.

He had his guitar work on "Stranglehold" and the millions from the stoners he disdains. It's something anyway. Plus the knowledge he is next now that you have your sights set.
