How do you get diagnosed? My mom is an Orthopedic surgeon so she never takes me to the doctor because she thinks she konws everything. Theres always something wrong with me and I feel like some one must be giving me drugs without me knowing about it. When I'm doing homework I just want to sleep. Not having to do work makes me so happy. I do homework until 10:30 at night and I go to sleep. Or sometimes I fall asleep when I get home from school and wake up at 6:30 am like today. I quit track team this week because having homework, track, and life is so much work. When I run in track, I wish I was just lying in bed at home asleep. And I can't write essays.

some doctors are very sceptical and some may not even believe it exists, due to the fact it's relatively rare and the inital symptoms look very like a mild cold. Or they may just think you're being a wuss, which they probably get a lot of, the "worried well".
My GP told me it was too fashionable a diagnosis and put me on Prozac  This was after I'd been diagnosed.

It's been linked to stress, and there are good biological reasons why stress would make you more vulnerable to it. I developed CFS while studying for my GCSEs, feeling very stressed out for that and other personal reasons.
Same here. I was doing GCSE mocks, had been bullied the year before & had my tonsils out, was constantly ill but kept trying to carry on through it all.
system shocker- diagnosis is just eliminating everything else it could be. Be prepared for a LOT of tests.

Reading the internet for hours, playing videogames, and watching anime always make me feel so much better.
