So they cut this out? Good, hopefully we won't see such a thing in final release.
Check again now, they might have already taken it out of the Polish version too.

I'm a bit concerned about using a browser from a company that's been trying very hard to get into my computer's pants for years now (Google desktop and the searchbar) and otherwise track and store my online behavior for future purposes yet undefined (the Google cookie).
One positive thing I have to say so far is that is that Google has been using sugar rather than vinegar. Their Google Maps app, for example, completely blew the doors off of the lame, limited, and ad-laden Mapquest and similar. Gmail basically gave everyone huge email accounts with smarter spam filters and a cleaner interface, and this is even if you didn't use Gmail at all, since everyone else had to play catch up. Nearly everything they roll out shows that they really think about what users want.
But I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid yet (unless I can get a job there, in which case, please, sir, can I have some more).
My biggest concern is that I just rediscovered Opera a year or so ago, and I hope that they can still dig up enough revenue to stay in the game. Great browser, this.

Nope, still there.

I love all the knee-jerk anti-google sentiment flying around the internet. I think a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted, but watching point after point be brought up and then shot down as short-sighted and baseless is hilarity.
Go intarwebz go!

Oh come on, I'm sure that from my post, the one I quoted, and the fact the Chrome is a desktop application, that you understood I was referring to desktop distros. Why be so pedantic?

It's another linux distro. It's from google. It seemed pertinent in a whimsical sort of way.

BTW, there IS a Home Page button. It just is not enabled by default. Click the 'wrench/spanner' icon in upper right-hand corner. Hit Options, and under the Basics tab there is a box to check to make Chrome show the button.

Why shouldn't there be anti-Google sentiment? They're an advertising company that's trying to build a monopoly out of the web platform so they can mine more user data and serve more ads.
