I mostly think of it as a double album as it's paced like one. I tend to digest it as two halves of a whole.

Quick listens:
This first fuck buttons track is threatening to bust something out of my list. If only I didn't have to say the band's name to discuss them. Yeah, three songs in now, this is really good. It's actually kinda similar to my Field pick.
I much preferred the HEALTH I saw at Sled Island to the one that was committed to plastic, but I'm digging the followup. The live show is impossible to translate anyway, so why not make a noise-pop record instead?
Nosaj Thing - yep not much of a surprise that I like this, I'd like to hear it a higher quality version though, sounds like there's a lot of detail.
This Hudson Mohawke sampler is pretty exciting; tracking down the album now.
Laser Laser - holy Justice but hey why not, Justice is awesome.
I've had Warm Heart of Africa sitting on my hard drive awaiting review for a while now, and this was my excuse. It sounds like what Vampire Weekend was probably a little afraid of actually doing, which is a good thing.
I'm not sure Protomen is something I would really get into, but I can definitely appreciate what they're doing :thumb:
Riceboy Sleeps is up my alley; Ton, you should check out Mountains if you haven't yet.
Still browsing the rest of the lists; nice to have a day off that I can spend exploring all this new music.

I only gave the Warm Heart of Africa album one listen. While playing Far Cry 2 no less. Heh, it seemed like a good idea at the time, they're both Africa-themed right? But the titletrack was the only song that really got my attention.

Cool list Aja, I'm definitely looking into a bunch of your stuff in the very near future. I can strongly recommend getting a high quality version of Drift, his music has some great samples in it, and when you can hear those clearly, it's a thing of brilliance, ditto for HudMo. I personally don't understand why everyone has such an issue with the name Fuck Buttons, but I'm pretty easy going when it comes to swearing. Have you listened to the Health/Disco release? I liked it more than their original release.
Just making rash generalizations from your list, and seeing how interested to seem to be in ambiance and minimalism, you should definitely take a look at that Siren's Sound link I mentioned earlier, there's a lot in there that I think you'd like a lot (to be specific finneyerkes, Heinali, and Metavari).

Kinda thought it would be. And Mountains has definitely made it on my "Buy This" list, thanks :D
Also, why do I always dismiss The Flaming Lips as if they're not worth paying attention to? Every time I hear something of theirs, I like it. This needs to be fixed.

Me too, but "Fuck Buttons" sounds like a fictional band name created to lampoon the latest find of a trend-following hipster douchebag.
But thanks for pushing their music my way, as it is stunning!

Almost as bad as "Does it offend you, yeah?"

I'm planning on scouring it.
