*What sent that into motion in the first place?
*That's not a scientific explanation
*That sounds a lot like the big bang, once again with no real explanation behind it.
*You are not the one

* Two particles zipping through space that collided
Who created those particles? They came from other particles.
Where did they come from?Well you see, when a daddy particle and a mummy particle love each other very much...
* You're not a scientific explanation. Have you no faith? Where is your science now?
* You've obviously never been in a dutch oven the size of a solar system.
* I know kung fu

Ah I see. Well anyway, I suppose I will explain myself about the hell not existing thing.
Go get you popcorn and sodas now, this is the funny/ sad/ disgusting part of the movie.
A while back I heard of OBE, astral projection, saw a show about Lucid Dreams, etc. I was most intrigued by the concept of leaving ones physical being. I researched, reasearched, read, talked, and then experienced. For those of you who do not know what OBE (Outer Body Experience) is, you may read up on it (
http://brain.web-us.com/oobe/oobe.htm) here.
Now I'll sum up a few things. When you are in hell, you feel the gnashing of teeth, burning of eternal fire, demons will rip your soul apart, etc. One problem, your soul cannot feel! Pain is a physical trigger. You have no nerves outside of your body, you have no heart, you have nothing! No eyes!
When experiencing the free roaming of OBE, the feeling is only happiness. You can see all that is not apperaent, in my eyes I was seeing lightness in a dark room, I could not hear anything. There was really nothing to hear though... I could not feel ANYTHING. I really suggest if you do not know much about it, or have not experienced it, make an effort. It is real. YES I know this is coming from the village idiot.
That said, as a spirit you cannot feel. Pain does not exist. Sorrow does not exist. Only happiness. If Hell was real, how would it affect us spiritually? Perhaps God would have to send us back into a body of the physical world to experience pain... But if you are christain you would know that it is your spirit that burns in hell... This is my #1 priority right now to figure out for myself. I don't mean to come off as insulting to anyone.

P.S. Fett, Even after all you say, I still do not see him as being 'God'. I just want to express why without being mocked or murdered...
Jesus says "I am the light", "The bread of life", etc. But that can be taken many ways. If you take it literally, he means he is god. If you take it how I believe he meant it, he means "I am the image of god, a representative of the light, I am an example of how you may be godly. Follow me or my ways and God will accept you." I do not believe the spirit of God was inside Jesus body. I believe Jesus worded it that way because he wanted the people to understand that he pretty much was god so they don't need to worry about anything else. All you've quoted and said points out to Jesus being claimed as god, but that doesn't necessarely mean he was in spirit. Ya follow me?
I follow you, but your question was 'did he claim to be god' and the answer is YES. There was no question among his audience that this is exactly what he was saying - god incarnate (which encompasses body, soul, spirit). As I said, we Gentiles are dumbasses because we want him to say it in a way that is clear to us in 2007. The fact is, the intended audience in the 1st century understood him to be saying exactly this: "I am God in the flesh, the literal embodiment of God's spirit and the law, the fulfillment of all messianic prophecy and all promises of a coming Mesiach (Messiah) that will save the world from eternal death." They understood him to mean that he was the G-D of Abraham, the creator, the beginning and end - not just his likeness or representative.
What you
believe about what he said is a separate issue entirely. You asked whether or not he claimed to be god and he absolutely, positively, without any doubt or misunderstanding of his audience did. Otherwise, the public wouldn't have followed him and the Jewish leaders wouldn't have turned him over to the Romans for execution.
Also, on the subject of hell: It is not primarily defined in the bible as a place of physical anguish, brimstone, etc. - most of this idea is a modern extrapolation based on a few scriptures and Dante's Inferno. The concept of hell as understood in the context of scripture is a spiritual separation from god for all eternity - thus a place of mental, psychological, emotional, and spiritual suffering. Jesus speaks of 'the lake of fire' and 'outer darkness' but it is typically in parables which are not useful for forming doctrine (though people often do so for their own purposes).

Yep.:)
If one is Christian then one knows that the spirit DOES feel, and feels more honestly and perfectly. This is another concept that can be spelled out in detail from the book containing these concepts.

You know, that's the cool thing about Satan, that he can even screw with your OBE. Just wait.

See Fett, now it's all starting to come together! Still one part though, If we are a part of God, God is a part of us, how is it that we can be seperated from him?

Oh God that OBE thing was just so... ack! Come on, just stop. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
Keep going fett - you can turn this worm yet.
