Sadly not the title of a new sitcom.

Goodness me, I thought. I like Chris Langham in his various roles. And he just won a BAFTA a couple of days ago too.
I wonder if there's any truth to it, but it's probably the most surprising story of this kind for me that's come up.
You might say he's in the Thick of It now.
On a slightly tangentrical note, my friend's ex-choirmaster just got convicted of having indecent images of children on his computer, and admitted to fantasising about the choirboys in his care regularly. He never abused them, but it's way to go on challenging stereotypes. :thumb:

Seems to me the key word there is 'having'. Mr. Langham 'has been charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children'. That's a tad more serious than just 'having' imo. If there's a distinction to be made, that is.
edit: fixed that.

Wasn't he already up for these charges like, HALF A YEAR AGO? There's a post about it somewhere.
And it's spelt LANGHAM, not Langdon. Jesus.

He was brought in for questioning and released without charge half a year ago as part of the same investigation. Apparently they forgot to tick "show hidden files and folders" at the time.

Well shit :(
This has been bubbling around since about January, but I thought the lack of a charge (up until now) was a good sign that it was all an hilarious internal misunderstanding.
Just to clarify something about crappy UK law, by the way. Although he has been charged with "making" indecent images; when the illegal images are found on a device capable of duplicating said material (ie; a computer) the suspect is invariably charged with "making" or "distributing" indecent images (yes I know that makes no sense at all, but there we go). It doesn't mean he videoed himself romping with toddlers, or whatever the fuck.
Still holding out hope that he's innocent though, 'cos he's ace. British comedy could do without losing one of the last people in the field with any talent, too. Although I guess this charge means that boat has already sailed.
Totally starting the HE WAS RESEARCHING FOR HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY campaign.

When I hear INDECENT IMAGES my mind harks back to that skit in the paedogeddon Brass Eye where he's talking about finding the composit photo of the boy's face on the dog's body with a giant penis attached "strangely arousing".

I was promised INDECENT IMAGES?
HOHOHO
BUT seriously folks, I'm hoping there is something we plebs don't know about that will eventually be made clear, hopefully this is what Langham means when he says he has a load of stuff to say but can't for legal reasons, and also from the fact that the showbiz are still bigging him up right now, when you'd have thought they'd be distancing themselves.

I too am a fan of Chris Langham's comedy, and I will remain such whether or not he is convicted.
Unlike Joe Hysterical Public, I make my judgements of somebody's talents and abilities independently (as far as consciously possible) of other aspects of their lives.
