Nothing's being equated with hatred. Disappointment? A new game that isn't exactly like the originals is of course going to disappoint some of you lot. Frustration? You're not being pandered to, you're being ignored. That'd be frustrating -- as is the notion of new blood who might get being a Thief fan wrong, like I do apparently despite owning 3 different copies of Thief 1 and 2. Disagreement? "Go back to CommChat/GenGaming" in response to anyone who doesn't march in lockstep is a form of disagreement, sure. But on top of all that there's plenty of hate to go around.
The collective response when that first batch of Re-Thief info came out a couple weeks ago has been more or less a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth. You wanna know why a few people in here are facepalming and tsking at Thiefgen? Take a good look at threads like "Thi4f Screenshots: looks like generic dishonered copy paste" and the TEEF meme which y'all need to stop btw.
