The DNC has never once officially stated that Trump's presidency is illegitimate. Hell, there are people in Trump's own cabinet who have taken a hardline stance against the Russians on the issue. Hayley, Mattis, Tillerson. People hand picked by Trump himself who are taking a strongly opposing stance on the issue.
Plus, the Russian hack consisted of multiple hacked servers from multiple vectors. That one alleged server setting in the basement is an idiot talking point espoused by people on Facebook trying to desperately Goldmoon Dawn delegitimize an investigation they obviously know nothing about.
On top of that, if this were a lame attempt for the Democrats to save face, why would the Republicans side so strongly with them to the point that a normally consistently divided congress voted together 530 to 5 across the aisle in both the House and Senate?

As for the article you posted, it's pretty good, but I do take exception to one thing. I'll copy/paste a reply I made elsewhere here...
A 22.7 meg a second down would require an 180 megabit down/up connection, which, while not necessarily widespread, is far from uncommon. In my little tiny town, I've had access to gigabit internet since 2013, and currently have a 250 megabit connection now. A hacker could very easily access data that fast in 2016. You could maintain that speed even while going through a various number of proxies, provided they're high end ones. Which, if it was ordered at the behest of the Russian government, could be provided to them.
...the better way to disprove the notion it was a hack using the data provided would be to look at the connection speed of the host computer. Considering Podesta and co. are government employees working in the heart of DC, it's wouldn't be unlikely for them to have a connection that fast, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility. It's certainly better than saying "no regular person could download at 22 meg a second in mid 2016", because a lot of regular people can and do.
Plus, 22 meg a second is fairly slow for a direct file transfer from a host computer to a flash drive. My little dinky 64GB USB 3.0 thumbdrive I paid $15 for can write data at 80MBps. Though in regards to the hack, all that depends on the age of the host computer, and the equipment the hacker was using. 22MBps on an older computer with to a USB 2.0 thumb drive is about average, especially if you're writing tons upon tons of smaller files.
Now maintaining a connection that fast across the ocean and continental Europe would be a bit more difficult to do, but it's still far from impossible. It all comes down to the upload rate being a little on the fast side for a remote connection, a little on the slow side for a direct connection. Things are more likely to lean towards the USB connection, but as proof, it's still pretty inconclusive.

Oh, no, my friend Renz. I would never become nihilistic enough to not want children of my own. Maybe only enough to wish I was never born.

speaking of fecesbook, anyone that uses it on a daily or bi-daily basis is not to be taken seriously by any measure of, well, anything.

The Nation has been sympathetic to Russia since forever. And the editor, Katrina vanden Heuvel, is the wife of Stephen F. Cohen, who is Russia's #1 propagandist in the US. So on Russia issues, The Nation is basically like a print version of rt.com
Sometimes I watch RT. It's interesting to get a Russian perspective on some things. But there can be a lot of propaganda to weed through.

Okay, first off, LOL the fix Renz did. But, also, it should be "don't" blame spellcheck! If you are going to be pedantic then you have to first be perfect yourself.
As for old liberal Smithers would have gotten away with it too if not for you meddling republicans, I'm perfectly happy to await the results of the FBI investigation. We don't have to have another Reality Winner go to jail just so we can know the Russians did hack information on voting machines. Let conservatives whine about how things are not conclusive with their information which is also not conclusive. I'm happy with the truth no matter how it comes out. It is just important that it is investigated when it concerns a foreign power. It would be nice if Julian Asslozenge somehow managed to get a punch in the jaw out of the deal but you can't have everything.
