Some of you might know of DUNGEON MASTER. The first real-time RPG with a "realistic" view on computer.
It's sequel "Chaos Strikes Back" had never been released on PC... Not until some guy decided to port the Atari ST code to PC!!! :D
And that's what I've recently (a few weeks ago) found on the web... Chaos Strikes Back for Windows! And it works PERFECTLY (with sound and all). I even finished it (there's no better proof that it works).
So here's the link to the file:

Note in case there would be an update. It's in the "Clones" section of the site.
So here's the link to the site where you can also download Dungeon Master:

PS: if you're not familiar with Dungeon Master, I HIGHLY recommend that you play it first because CSB is much harder and requires that you are a "dungeon master".

Yeah, CSB is VERY difficult. It's one of most difficult games I've ever played.
And I didn't have patience to finish it. It seems to me this would take a masochist..
I can cope with difficult monsters, but dungeons were too complex / I didn't have any idea where I was after few invisible pits, gigglers stealing my good items and so forth.
Dungeon Master is a classic, and not nearly as difficult. I recommend it too, a true RPG fan should've played it anyway, but try CSB only if you're willing to put up with oldish graphics AND extreme difficulty. Puzzles are also quite hard, that applies to DM too, but at least it had puzzles that made sense.
P.S. Dungeon master has also been remade, at least for Java. Get it at : (

Yeah CSB is VERY hard but once you undestand how the junction of the 4 ways and the Diabolical Daemon Director work, it's finishable (I did finish it).
But if you don't know how to cast a fireball, don't even try to play CSB. :)
About DMjava, it's not really a remake of Dungeon Master. Just some small dungeon-crawling game using the original Dungeon Master graphics in Java.

Copy-paste from official site: "Dungeon Master Java is a remake of the classic FTL game Dungeon Master. It is written entirely in Java, and is designed to run as a stand-alone application rather than an applet in a web browser. It has high-resolution graphics that simulate a 3D environment. Most of the graphics are rendered in the free ray-tracer Pov-Ray. Item graphics and character portraits are done by hand with a paint program, though many are simply taken from the original and its sequels and touched-up.
Gameplay is very similar to the original, with real-time action, 90-degree turns, and step-by-step movement. One major change from the original is that monsters are not "stuck" in groups: they are completely free to wander, sometimes occupying a square with other monsters and sometimes not."
Dungeons of original DM. (+free editor to make your own)
Interface identical (if a little improved)
Graphics identical (again, improved but still same)
To me, this fills requirements for word "remake". And it is actually pretty big download, about 13MB. + Java of course. It's a shame nobody is allowed to put Java Virtual Machine downloadable on mirror sites...

Oh?... Yes. You're right... :erm:
That's strange because I'm almost sure that the DMjava I downloaded 1 year ago did not fulfill this description.

You're propably correct. I only came to know about this remake about couple of months back, it propably was pretty small and "crappy" in early stages of making.
But now it's almost perfect :) One thing.. after trying CSB and getting used to it's very fast character level-ups, trying DM is shocking. Character's don't seem to improve even half the rate they did in CSB. I had all in my party Artisan or Adept fighters when I was still in same level adventure started.

DMJava is cool though, I liked it because it was a different dungeon.
FUCKING HARD THOUGH EVERYONE STARVES TOO FAST
I was thinking, if I had time I could remake Dungeon Master with DMJava, considering I have the old maps sitting next to me. That would be cool.
*hopes someone else will do it*
edit: OOOOOOH BABY
