Just to check - did you click the "go advanced" button when editing the first post? That should (in theory) allow you to change the title.

You could ask a mod, I guess. At least I have a field for changing the title of that thread, although I did not attempt to change it.

I was able to change the title to Upcoming & abandoned FMs list ... (that's what you wanted, right?)
No idea why it wouldn't let you!

There's a time limit on editing the thread title by users. I'm not sure what it is, but it is less than 3.5 years.

That may be the cause here as I've never changed it before. Is it mentioned in the FAQ somewhere, David? I haven't been able to find it.
Also what is the reason of such a time-limit?

Al_B: I've tried that but perhaps this is only to change the post title rather then thread title? It would explain why the post title succesfully changes every time I've tried so far while the thread title remains the same.
Double clicking the thread on the forum is another method but that option no longer works for me (probably because it's now changed by an admin).

Using "go advanced" and double-clicking next to the title should both work to change the main thread title. As double-clicking pretends to allow you to change any thread I thought using the other method was worth a shot.
Anyway - glad it's sorted. Have you tried renaming any of your other threads to see if it's something linked to your user account?
