I've been trying to get myself into the thieves and i have been looking forward to it to complete my world domination plan etc. But they won't let me in. I think i read somewhere about some kind of console command i can use to join factions or something. Or is there something i can do to make them like me better? I have 100 disposition will all the guildmasters there.

One (or both) of these should work:
pcjoinfaction "Thieves Guild"
player->pcjoinfaction "Thieves Guild"
(Of course, you can only access the console if on a PC; otherwise, if your skills are good enough and they still won't let you in... well, sorry, tough luck. If you replay, join them 1st, maybe)

if your too high a rank in another guild then some guilds won't let you join. take that in mind before you start cheating yourself in with new characters!!!! *cries because he can't cheat because he has xbox version*

The Fighters Guild and the Thieves Guild really do not like each other. At all. [SPOILER]Mastering the Fighters Guild requires you to kill the Thieves Guild leaders, and vice versa I believe. The Fighters Guild has been hired by the Camonna Tong to wipe out the outlander thieves. [/SPOILER]
If you've joined the Fighters and completed the [SPOILER]Sottilde's Code Book[/SPOILER] quest you're pretty much [SPOILER]fooked.[/SPOILER] I believe if[SPOILER] she knows you took it (You spoke to her, persuaded her to give it to you, killed ker...)[/SPOILER] the Thieves now won't let you join. However, if you [SPOILER]pickpocket it[/SPOILER] I think you're fine.
If you aren't in the Fighters Guild then...I don't know what's up.

You also need certain skills at a certain level to join certain factions. If you don't have this they certainly refuse you.
I can't remember what skills are required for the thievesguild. But there is a good chance you need Security/Sneak/LightArmor (or other Security specializes skills) at 30 or something.
