Are there any other bosses you cant kill? (Navarre and Paige you must kill, obviously.) I presume you could hack Gunther's computer using a cloack, without killing him - or lead him out of the room and into the grounds of the castle and then double back into the room. Anyone tried?
Done that. Apparently the game expects you to kill him here because he never shows up later. The only real difference is that you never get the convo with Simons via hologram. I just got Gunther to follow me, turned on cloak and ran, and he stopped on the landing where the stairs going into the computer room take a right angle turn. I was expecting to have to cloak past him, but being the big dumb gunnut he is he had stopped and faced into the corner, so I just crouched as I walked past him.
And you don't have to kill Paige, the Helios ending just has him not merge, so he just kinda sits there and what happens after that is unknown.

That reminds me. What actually happens when you don't talk with Reyes on the way out?

- (Not checked) What happens if you say to the informer you will spare the NTF Leader, while you will kill the aforementioned chief? I seem to recall the informer (sorry, I forgot his name. *Grumbles*) will react differently then.
That's a fun one. Filben (the informant) will be *really* angry at you when you go and talk with him on Liberty Island again. But that is not enough - when you meet him again in Battery Park, he will tell you that he will double his prize for you from now on. So, if you need to pay him for the mole password, you will have to pay 1000 instead of 500.

- You can talk to the NTF leader and *then* kill him. Paul will call you names when you get back at HQ. (I told you he was a competitor, and a jealous one at that!) Manderley will be perhaps even more annoyed by your poor attitude
It also has an effect on the first dialogue with Janice Reed.

I may have missed quite a few, and I didn't mention anything regarding gameplay options, but there are already a few choices available. Now, I cannot even think of a single choice in Hong Kong or Paris.
Oh, you are mistaken there. Hong Kong is a major place for fun with the conversations. Try it yourself - change the order in which you do things.
For instance, break into the police station as the first thing you do. Then go around and talk with everyone.
But you are right - Hong Kong is about the sequence in which you do the things, not as much about what you are doing. Or about whom you kill or not (exception, of course: Louis Pan).
For Paris, I agree though. That is far more linear than Hong Kong or the first part of the game.

Actually what I meant was what happens if you kill Mr. Renton as early on as possible, before the Jo-Jo scene. I remember someone on these boards mentioning (s)he had tried that, but didn't describe the result in any detail.
Jojo will talk with Sandra when you come down into the hall in that case. He will be trying to get her back to work, basically. I don't think that he got as angry as that he would have attacked her, but Sandra ran away and I met her again at the gas station.

Originally posted by sergeantgiggles I've heard you can exploit Navarre's AI by throwing a grenade at her, and then she will open that locked door for you, thus allowing you to leave without killing her. Yes, and the best thing is that doing so also affects the game slightly. You will get differend conversations with Gunther at the Cathedral.
And the conversation that you get there depends on freeing Gunther in the beginning and or giving him a gun or not.
