I still get CGI errors ocasionally when trying to edit a file or going up one level (in terms of forum), what's up with that? I thought it was fixed.

As I understand it, this is a particularly bizarre problem because the forums no longer use CGI. That's as far as my understanding of it goes, though.

I've been getting them more frequently, as well as 404s when the forums are still up. Usually while editing a post. After I hit "Finish Edit" or whatever the buttons called, it takes me to a 404 even though the edit was made and built into the database.

The official answer is: I have no fucking idea why that's happening... The forums don't use Perl (cgi), although that message does appear if permissions aren't properly set on some of the files, but if they weren't (which they are) nobody'd *ever* be able to access the pages.
I give up!

And I guess you have been in touch with vBulletin's support team?

Is CGI still installed on the server?
IonosFear on 20/10/2003 at 01:02
I never used to get that cgi error, but now I do. So somethings screwed...
really? no kidding. thanks.

I've fiddled a bit with some server-side settings in the hopes that it will alleviate this problem... Anyone still getting these CGI errors, please let me know. :)

I'm still getting them.
MsLedd on 5/2/2004 at 02:46
Wuggles, you got them in the last 2 hours (since the time of my post)?
