Larry Klapow, Ph.D., has developed the following work on this microscopic roundworm parasite. He has found what he believes is a new species of chronic parasite, Cryptostrongylus pulmoni, in a high percentage of CFS patients (>66%, adjusted for test sensitivity) in blinded diagnostic trials.

Can you translate for those of us who don't know the medical jargon?

Relevance-wise, it looks like progress toward finding clearer information about the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome being caused by parasites. I don't know if you were able to glean that yourself, but there it is. No, I don't know the medical jargon either. Looks like there's something about the parasites releasing something that causes the body to shut down production of a certain type of antibody. Looks like there might be progress toward being able to seriously pin down a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome by DNA testing, rather than, say, treating it without really knowing you're using the right treatment for sure?
