Korenchkin definatly gets my vote...
i could never really trust anyone named diego after SS1....
Korenchkin was just the cool russian that became a greater power...Korenchkin (unlike Diego) was smart enough to realize that joining the many would elevate him to being superor...

Heheh... if Korenchkin was really so superior, he wouldn't have found his tiny brain on the receiving end of my assault rifle!

JediKorenchkin: Actually, I think that what happened in SS1 with Diego (and this is based on the logs I found, and my own interpretation) is that Diego found out what SHODAN had become, and tried to manipulate her (by sucking up, and giving away the position of the resistance group on level 6). SHODAN's way of thanking him was cyborging him.

MANY KILLER on 29/3/2001 at 16:14
But as we can see in last one log of korenski, HE WAS ANGRY TO MANY. and maybe he rely tried to kill many, by takin command bridge to his own, and closin the doors of shutle, so many didnt escape.
BUT MY VOTE STILL GOES TO DIEGO.

I still think the CEO was better. He just had a great voice, reminded me of "Brink" from LucasArt's "The Dig". Really powerful and at the same time "scary"

**SPOILERS**
Korenchkin: He saw the light - this was bigger than him and TriOp. Resistance was futile. Look where it got Diego. Both characters were killed by your character in different ways (if you subscribe to the reverse gravity theory of Diego's death which I do) but at least Korenchkin died with honour in a straight fight whereas Diego was turned into a human pancake by a gravity reversal switch. How embarrassing!
I fully agree here. I registered for the simple fact of pointing this out.
Answer me this, would you kindly:
Did your character ever
die while you were playing SS2? You know, when you hadn't yet found a QBRM or there just wasn't one, and you had to load the game.
I'm sure you did. It was futile to fight the Many. I'm sorry, I know this is an old topic, but I had to interject my two cents.
BTW, I loved Korenchkin. Bastard, but he was too cool.
And the whole "gravity reversal" theory makes me sick. Diego died a noble death, trying to rid himself of the Many. There just wasn't enough 'human' left in him to be self-sufficient.

QFT. Dang.
How does caving to the Many make Korenchkin likable? He was a weak coward who betrayed every single person on the ship to save his own skin.
Diego did the same thing, but at least he realized what he had done and tried to reverse his mistake.
I think that at some point he may have thought of his father and how he had been a weak coward and had caved to Shodan. Then, when he realized that he was doing the same thing, he knew he had to put a stop to it, even if it cost him his life.
And, of course, Shodan made sure that it did.

Yeah, I know... >.>
:ebil: May I raise the dead! :ebil:
But anyway, sure Diego sacrificed it all for the 'right' cause. But If you look at it in a sacrifice perspective, Korenchkin gave himself up for the betterment of the life of the universe. Think: no conflict, no arguments, incredibly fast evolution.... The Many had it all, except they screwed with humanity. :P So, some version of Jesus ('Goggles') came in and killed them all.
I did find it interesting that Diego managed to think for himself and rip the Many out. Cool points to you! But that doesn't mean Korenchkin doesn't have the coolest, shortest log in the game!:cheeky:
