I think it stands for OEM Adaptation Layer...something to do with the kernel interfacing with hardware.

I'm surprised nobody has noticed this same problem is brought up in the thread on running SS2 in Vista... :erg: Alchemist, would you happen to be attempting to play on a Windows Vista machine?
