When I bought the game one year ago it worked like a charm, but due to my weak system I wasn't able to get through the game (it ran to slow and I gave up).
Now I have a new computer, and so after playing games that ware on my waiting list for month(Hitman Series, Thief 3, Mafia, and a few other freeware games), I pulled out my Deus Ex-GOTY CD, Installed from it, pushed the play button... and then it tells me "please insert correct CD-rom, and press ok and restart the application", and I can't get it to work, I think about trying to make a Image out of the CD, but I don't have the Program, or the space(I use my old 20G drive), anyone has any ideas?

You can get it incredibly cheap on eBay, but before you buy a new copy, try this:
Open DeusEx.ini in the DeusEx/System folder.
Scroll down to the line "CdPath=<something>"
Change it to "CdPath=../"
Then you won't need the CD to play anyway.

I tried that already, but it doesn't work, I have the "Sold Out" Version of the game. and if it meters I bought the game in Europe, but I moved to Canada since, can it be hardware compatibility?(I still use my old CD-RW on my new Computer so I don't think so.)
What do you guys think about my CD-Image idea? is there any chance it will work?

Yeah, I suppose it might if you have CD writing software, but you said you didn't have the software? You might be able to get some free programs from (
www.sf.net) but have you tried just reinstalling? And did you do a full install?

delete your ini for the game and go to the cd and go to where the ini file was its all on the cd so just cope the ini file from the cd and put it into the plase where you delete it from and put it there :thumb:
