Hi. It's me, the newbie. :)
Is there any advantage to raising casting skill over 100? Mine's currently 105, and I was wondering whether it's worth throwing in my 15 points to raise it to 120. The manual seems to imply that damage and such is only affected by character level. It doesn't look like mana or magic resistence go up either.
And if I do stop at 100, what's a good next skill for a pure-mage character? Stealth? Defense? Object Knowledge? Close Combat? All of those seem pretty useful.
How about an unrelated question -- how does a pure caster kill a demon? I threw three fireballs in rapid succession, and he didn't seem to mind too much. By then, he was too close, so I couldn't cast, and he killed me in two hits.
Now for the "other story." When roaming through the temple, I got into the habit of flinging a fireball every time I saw something move. So I did the same in the room with the "good" priest. Now, every time I come nearby, he starts talking to me ("leave me to my prayers..."). I went up close, and his lips are actually moving, even though he's dead. :)

Maybe I am not the best qualified to answer this, but it was always my understanding (keep in mind I maybe mistaken) that anything over 90 was questionable whether it was any more useful/effective.
