I just wanted to admit this is what I'm hearing anytime anyone mentions the great lakes. Strange and haunting song old Gordon sang. That and how cold the wind off the lake in December. I'm as interested in what comes out of those depths as I would be in anything dug up on the moon. To me it is as alien. So yeah, savour the carps man.
I do wish it were told in the vernacular of a salty sea dog with a few shantys and the gratuitous violence of naked women wrestling oily seamonsters but we can't have it all. Also I wonder what causes the black pock marks in rocks along the shore but can't figure a way to fit that in. Like mishapen dice they are.
And if the thread sinks then "fellows it's been good to know yaaa". No harm either way.
Okay what the hell causes those dimples? Fossil bacteria? WTF? I have one on the shelf above my toilet and it mocks me as I pee dammit.

One of my friends (the one that caught the 28" walleye in a previous post) is a scuba diver as a hobby. Fathom Five is a shipwreck underwater park up in Tobermory Ontario. He's explored it underwater as well as many other places. One time his regulator froze when he was 148 feet deep. He had to come straight up as fast as he could. He didn't get the bends though, fortunately.
Rocks with holes or dimples are usually where two different materials formed the rock. One erodes more easily.
And then FISH hide in them!!!!!!!
