Well, the fishing has been hit and miss lately. I've only had one opportunity to go out for a few hours on my friends boat. Four foot waves, some bigger, really hot and humid. Sheephead taking the spoons. We had to come in by 11:30 because my friend was expecting an important call at home. Finally caught one big walleye and had it for lunch. Over the radio you could hear the bite was finally starting in our area, but we had to go in.
The boy and I tried the channels for some bass or bluegill, but only the tiny largemouth are still hiding in the channels. It's so hot the biggies are in the deeper water. I could have thrown some in my own pond, but I didn't.
This morning I fished off the docks for a couple hours in Wheatley. The perch haven't been around. In fact the minnows haven't been around for the bait shop to sell. But the heat broke and it was cooler. I dropped the boy off at the bait shop for work and told him to call me at home if he heard the bite was on. He called me. They had little minnows which perch like. I used a pickerel rig and in two hours I caught eighteen. I caught way more than that, but I threw them back because they were too small to clean. The largest were four nine and a half inchers, then a couple of eights, the rest were 6 or seven. By the time you clean them there isn't much to eat, but if you love perch the way I do it's worth it.

That's just it, though: nobody in this forum but you and gunsmoke is really participating in this thread, and you ought to have the common sense to recognize that it has served its purpose and rebumping it with every new fish picture only turns it into your personal vanity hobby thread.
