I need a reg cleaning program :(

OK, i'm having the same problem
Installed Thief to "D:\Thief3"
Copied Thief3+editor to "D:\Thief3Edit"
I think the problem comes when I had to rename "Thief3" to "Thief3game" so that "Theif3Edit" could be renamed to "Thief3". This was to get the editor to run. Did everyone else do something similar?

Try the (
http://www.dracsoft.com/zips/thief3launcher.zip) Thief 3 Launcher, as UglyEd mentioned above. I was originally confused with David's instructions, but this just asks for two separate directories and lets you choose which one you want to initiate. Great stuff :thumb:.

Yes, you did it right, it helped me. If one renames "Thief3Edit" to "Thief3", the editor begins to work.
More important, DON'T DELETE ANYTHING FROM THE EDITOR FOLDER, ESPECIALLY MAPS!!! Don't listen to David :cheeky: :p

Can you play your maps though? We all get an error at the loading screen.

But then which maps are you playing? Editor maps or OMs? Cuz if it's OMs when new maps come out your method might be borked.

So how can we run a map? Do we have to export the map from in the editor, then load thief 3 from that launcher? What are the console commands for loading maps?

I deinstalled TDS
Cleaned up the registry
Deleted everything obsolete and unneeded of TDS, also the folder I made for TDS-Editor
Made a brand new install of TDS; called it 'T3Game'
Made a copy of this install folder and renamed it 'T3Edit'
Within this, I deleted the 'maps" and 'Video Textures' in '\CONTENT\T3'
Unzipped the Editorfiles into 'T3Edit'
Deleted 'T3Main.exe'
Renamed 'T3MainOptVersion.exe' to 'T3Main.exe'
In 'user.ini': set a semi colon in front of 'LoadFromResourceBlockFiles=True'
Appended 'SchemaChangesAllowed=True' to this file.
I use T3launcher for switching
I did this very carefully. Same thing happens, same error.
I've even exported the map to .gmp and no difference.

Have you tried copying the .gmp files from the game installation to the editor installation? That's how I got it working.

Hi I just got the Editor working, but when I load the test map in to the editor every thing works fine.
I exported the map, and when I press the joy stick icon, the game is starting. but after that I see the loading screen and nothing happend any more.
Any body know what is going on?
