Can't set my PC to any earlier (current) date!!! Stuck in the year 2099

Ok, so I set my pc to the year 2099, for whatever reason. But now I can't set it back to the current year!
In fact, I can't set it back to any earlier date or time. As soon as I set it back, it automatically reverts to 2099. That's so creepy!

I can set it a later date, but nothing earlier.

What should I do? Or is my computer stuck in the year 2099?

Please help!

Are you trying to do this in your BIOS or when your operating system is running?

When my OS is running. And just to let you know, I changed my date while my OS was running.

Is there a way to access my BIOS while my operating system is running?

No, you need to restart. Hit the delete key when black screen with white writing first is coming up. Or maybe F2 key. Or maybe another key. Google your pc and which key will take you to BIOS.

Just tried to reproduce your problem on Vista 64 Home Premium and although at least one program crashed I had no problems setting it back to 2010.

The only thing similar that I've seen in the past is with time locked software that doesn't like the date being reversed. However, that shouldn't be an issue particularly if you have UAC enabled. It's certainly a puzzling one but I'd have to guess at third party software or a BIOS issue as TBE says.

Well, finally I was able to set my pc clock back to 2010 via the BIOS. Although, the problem of not being able to change the time/date backwards still remains. Oh well, I guess that will remain an unsolved mystery. Hopefully I won't have any need to change my time or date backwards.
