See if anyone can help. It's a really wierd movie...really wierd. There's a kid. And this kid is talking to his late father on a red toy telephone. Then, he gets telekinetic abilities. And then there's this dummy that comes to life in a nearby tower thing. Then, this group of kids makes said tower thier clubhouse. While they're inside, something happens, and the tower starts to collapse. They're escaping, and get split up, into two groups. One group encounters a giant hamburger monster. While the other group encounters...Darth Vader. And that's all I can remember.
I told you it was wierd...

I think it was Star Wars, actually. You can tell because if Darth Vader is in it then it's Star Wars.

I think what you're referring to as the "hamburger monster" is actually "Pizza the Hut," and "Darth Vader" is actually "Dark Helmet," am I right?

I've never been able to figure out the connection between Darth Vader and Big Van Vader.

I'd think shit this random could not pass a google search unnoticed.
Ever think of trying "telekinetic" "hamburger" and "darth vader" as (
http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=06I&q=telekinetic+%22hamburger%22+%22darth+vader+%22&btnG=Search) keywords?
If you did, lo and behold, the first entry is the budget kid's horror flick (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089378/) Joey (aka Making Contact).
I can't say I've ever seen it. After reading the description and some of the comments, I can't say that I ever want to see it.
(I suppose I could imagine it having some nostalgia value if I saw it as a kid. I can think of other weirdo movies I saw that have left their mark.)
Edit: By the way, the writer/producer was Roland Emmerich, who went on to write/produce Stargate, Godzilla, Independence Day, the Patriot and the Day After Tomorrow. Interesting. Less surprising is that almost every actor in that movie was not billed for any other movie in IMDb's records. This movie seems to have killed the career of everyone involved with it except its creator's.
