Can't quite get the last Akbaa's Rock... - by Spitter

I already have four of the five Akbaa's Rocks. If what I've read is correct (some threads down), a cult priest attacking you should have it. I've killed all the priests I've seen this far, but no rock. In fact, after I put the fourth rock into its place in the Akbaa's Temple, I think this priest should be spawned in the world. After leaving the Temple, there seems to be a priest near the cave entrance (which was blocked by a magical field earlier).
Yes, seems to be. I can hear him, but he's not there. He's not invisible, since neither spells or Poxsellis's helmet help spotting him, and even swinging my sword around the space his voice seems to be coming from achieves nothing. He doesn't even react to my footsteps or other racket. The Fire Field spell didn't have any effect, either. In other worlds, he's gone to the World of Ether.
I fear I've been bitten by a Bug Fatalis. I tried to leave the level and then coming back, but it didn't help. Neither did reloading an older saved game (from time just before applying the fourth Akbaa Rock into one of the rock slabs) and trying again. Is my game in an unwinnable state?
I'm using the latest patch (1.15, I recall), I even applied the patch before starting the game (and yes, I did remove the read-only tag from few of the files). The patch readme states that "a bug with an akbaa rock" was fixed. Hmm? The same readme also says that you can no longer go "outside" the game space in the very same level (4, Underground Lake). Not true. I accidentally managed to hop outside the playing area by jumping around that huge ventilation shaft. This makes me wonder if the patch actually even managed to install itself correctly.

Have you already triggered the cutscene with the King and several other key characters in the water cave on level 4? (I'm sure you have but I thought I would ask.)

Actually, I haven't. I think I should be looking for a dragon, too, to get one of her eggs... But I have no idea where to look for her. But it seems I'm not quite stuck yet, anyway. Thanks.
Curiosity: Can you finish the game if you waste all the candles before getting one of the Akbaa's rocks? Or is there an infinite supply of them somewhere?

Ahhhhhhhh. I understand now. You need to have made the Ultimate Weapon and trigger a cutscene before the last Akbaa rock will be spawned. This is just to insure you don't skip to the last part of the game when your half-way through.
