I can't log in on firefox anymore. Everytime I log in I get booted. I can only log in on internet exploder browser. (yes, it sounds like a cookies problem, but I used to be able to log in fine! Also, I've checked and cookies are enabled.)

It's probably of no help at all (but no-one else has answered yet), but the same thing happened to me unless I ticked the 'remember me' box. After a day or so it righted itself without any further action from me.

SG, you need to locate and rename your firefox profile, then start FF, it will then create a fresh profile and work.
First doa search for bookmarks.html on your c:\ drive, when you find it copy it to your desktop - this contains all your favorites.
Xp:
* C:\documents and settings\-your user name-\Application Data\Mozilla\
* C:\documents and settings\-your user name-\local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\
Vista/W7:
* C:\Users\-your user name-\App data\Roaming\Mozilla\
* C:\Users\-your user name-\App data\Local\Mozilla\
There will be a directory called 'firefox' in each location - delete it.
Restart firefox and then click file>import and click on the 'bookmarks.html' on yer desktop

I'd actually suggest starting Firefox with the -p command line argument (eg firefox.exe -p from a command prompt) to start Firefox with the profile manager open so that you can test to see if a new profile fixes the problem before you nuke your existing profile and spend ages getting all your extensions and preferences set up again.

I didnt know about that one, another one you could try is clicking on the "firefox" safe mode icon from the start menu, that sometimes works.

Thanks.
David, I tried it. That works! Though I'd rather not have to redo my whole firefox. Then again, having to switch profiles everytime i want to post on TTLG would get annoying too, so...

once you get FF working, you can use 'mozbackup', to backup your config, extension, bookmarks, cache etc - so if FF screws up like it does from time to time, you can simply restore.

This happened to me a couple of times. I'm not sure if it's precisely the same thing but to fix it I went into tools->options->privacy tab->show cookies and found the ttlg folder, then deleted all the cookies inside.
Worked a treat.

Thanks muzzman, I'll try that before I go the extreme route.
