I know the answer exists out there some where but my searches have not turned up anything of use. To start, do to some issues I had to reinstall my operating system. (Vista 64 bit). For the first time since this reinstall I've decided to get back to playing some fan missions. After opening Garrett Loader when I try to launch a FM I get a pop-up with the message: "thief 2 the metal age has stopped working...." The same thing also happens when I try to launch the main game. I have the latest patch T2 premier 1.18 installed. I've seen suggestions to change the affinity to a single core. However, in order for me to do that the game would have to be initially launched before I can go into task manager and change the affinity. I've also seen advice regarding using DDFIX but looking at my t2 directory it appears I've already installed this.
If it's of any use my specs Vista 64 bit SP2, Radeon HD 3870 video card, Intel e8400 dual core processor.
Any other advice to rectify this problem would be greatly appreciated.
