Hi there, I'm new to the forums.
So, I acquired Thief Gold not too long ago (a friend recommended it to me), and today I decided, eh, what the hell, I'll try to install it. This is where all hell breaks loose:
So, I stick the first disk in to my computer, and it pops up with the menu (where you can decide whether you want to install it, read the readme, ect..). I've tried installing it this way, but after making it past InstallShield, nothing happens. After lurking around these forums for a bit, I discovered that you can use the e:\setup.exe -lgntforce way: again, it completes the InstallShield bar, but nothing happens.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Maybe it's the operating system, but other people seem to get it to work on their Win-7 machines. I'm really looking forward to playing this game; help would be appreciated.
My specifications:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 970 3.50 GHZ
Motherboard: MSI 870A-G54
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870 (1GB GDDR5)
OS: Windows 7
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper (16GB)
HDD: Hitachi 1.5 TB
CD/DVD Drive: LG DVD Drive
(Not exactly the most professionally done list of specs, but..)

You will need Administrative rights to install Thief, and you may want to turn UAC off whilst you install it, and possibly any anti-virus software running too. The installer can take up to a few hours to complete, so I can only suggest you leave it overnight or somthing. The LGNTFORCE command will also be needed, but you aleady know about that.

Well, I'm willing to try that: will respond back with results.

Sadly, it still refuses to work. However, I have some other news: I successfully installed Thief Gold on my brothers computer, which also happens to run Windows 7. No errors at all; started installing as soon as I used the LGNTFORCE command.
Like I said before though, it refuses start on my computer; will put my specifications in my original post.
