or right click on my computer>click properties, then device manager and then select display adapters, then your 8800, then click on properties the driver tab - you see a version number like "7.15.11.78.24"

I'd forgotten the easy way. And apologies to JimmytehHand8 for asking a quick question in your thread, but why do I get a different result for Driver version in Device Manager to the one I get in Dxdiag, biker?

6.14.11.7116 is the one I get in the device manager tab.

Ok that translates into "Forceware 171.16", which is from the little googling I did, is quite an oldish driver to be using with an 8800 series gfx card, the oldest driver you want to be using with this card is 175.16.
But I suggest you get the latest driver, (
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_178.24_whql_uk.html) Geforce 178.24. Also it wont hurt to update DirectX to the (
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directxdownload.html) latest version

Make sure you have .NET framework 2.0 or later for ddfix gui.
