Can't get Thief II running. - by Mister Tastee

Before I say anything, i've read the FAQS and I couldn't find anything to help me there.
I just bought Thief II after looking for it for ages, but now I can't get it to work. I expected this though, because i'm running Vista, and I don't even have a proper graphics card. It's a Intel GMA integrated graphics...
So, to the problem:
I installed it without any problems at all, and I installed (
http://timeslip.chorrol.com/ddfix.html) this patch. When I try to run T2 normally, it starts booting up, then instantly CTD. If I run it in Windows 2000 compatability mode, it goes to a black screen then freezes and I have to close it with Task Manager.
So...do you think you could help me out?

Install the game without that patch. Might help. Not sure, how vista works, Get a better video card maybe, or switch to windows Xp like me :P I can run just about every game.

Okay, i'll uninstall and delete the patch, then reinstall. I can't really upgrade the graphics card, because it's a laptop, and I can't switch to XP, because it's not my laptop.
EDIT: Well, goddamn. It worked. I should've tried it without the bloody patch first, huh? Only problem is, it doesn't play the intro movie. It just goes straight to the menu. But i'm not that bothered by that. Now, we'll see if there's any crashing once I try to play the actual game. (Read: I'm going to be back with more problems soon. Probably. Hopefully not.)

FOr some reason videos only work for me If I run the game as an administrator.

Oh, finally. Okay, here's what I did:
1. Did a clean install of T2.
2. Did the hyperthreading thing in the FAQ (disabling one of the 'CPUs' so as to stop confusing the poor old game).
3. Set to Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode
4. Last of all, ran it as an administrator.
So far, going perfectly. The videos are playing, i'm doing the first level, and it hasn't frozen yet.
Thanks to everybody, especially the people who contributed to the FAQ.
EDIT: GRRRARGH! It keeps freezing about 5 minutes in, even after doing the hyperthreading fix.
When I doubleclick the processor batch file, this is what comes up in the command window:

nope, that is certainly not right, make sure your exe is not marked as read-only.

...It seems to be working just fine. I just figured i'd have another go before checking back here, and it worked fine. If I have anymore problems, i'll unmark it as read only. I don't even know why it's like that.
But anyway, thanks again.

Sorry for double post, but I figured noone would look if I just edited.
Okay, now I have another problem. The videos aren't playing. I've tried all three of the fixes in the FAQ, and none of them have worked. It just skips the video, and if I click 'intro' to actually view the video, then it CTD.
Any ideas? I've tried running it as administrator, but it doesn't even start up then.

Are you talking about the one named iv5play or something like that? I've already tried that. And i've tried the other two methods reccommended in the FAQ. They didn't help me at all. And now, every time it tries to play a video other than the intro, it crashes. So I can't finish any missions.
