Hi,
I decided to move my Thief installs to my Vista laptop but I am having massive problems getting Thief 2 to run. I have fully working Gold/T2 installs on my stationary Vista and I have reinstalled these games at least 10 times so I am aware of most of the steps needed to get the games to run smooth, on that machine at least.
But on the laptop, nothing. Thief Gold installs and runs fine, no issues and the widescreen patch looks great. Thief 2 I can't even get to launch! The resolution changes and everything freezes, that's it. I get the same effect no matter where in the install process I try to launch. I get the same result if i launch just after a clean install, even before installing the 1.18 patch, and after installing/applying patch, DDfix, Multicore fix, widescreen patch, safe_texture_manager, video codec registration and so on.
Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi,
Thanks, I did try that but nothing. I realised it may be movie related after all so I added the skip_intro to the Darkloader cfg. This takes me to the start menu but game freezes as soon as I try to run the intro movie or any mission movie, same goes for FMs with movies. Removing the movies altogether allows me to run the missions. Tried reinstalling the Indeo codecs and registering them manually but this didn't help.
Well, at least I can get it to run and now I know what the problem is. Will try to solve the movie thingy later.

Run the following command:
regswr32 ir50_32.dll
If this doesn't help, install the K-Lite Codec Pack.

Minor point - but you probably meant regsvr32 with a v instead of a w.
