Quite simply I want to play this marvelous game, and I've done everything the FAQ has suggested to get it to run, but when I try to fire it up the screen goes black for a moment and then I get a message saying it has encountered an error and needs to shut down. Is there anything more I can do?

Go to eBay, buy a rusty old Duron 800 machine with a GeForce2 card and install windows98. And everything is fine, even Shock1 :thumb:

Try rename the folder 'cutscenes', it is in the main Shock 2's install folder. Rename it to whatever you want, cutscene for that matter.
See if the game will run now. :)

The renaming the folder didn't work. I'm afraid I might have to go diggin in the attic to see if I can find that old maching with the ATI Rage 2 to see if it can run SS2 though I doubt it.

You don't need an older computer if no one else here does, my computer has high-end hardware and it works fine for me.
Are you perhaps trying to run the game with compability mode?

Click the button the error message that gives further information. Note down the appName and modName and post them back here.

Or better yet Alt+PrntScrn and copy to image save program of choice, save to photobucket, and post link here.
