Did you cast "enchant object" on the sword after you used the egg on it? It should have a blue glow to it when all is said and done.
Also, how did you beat the dragon so easily? It kept time freezing me to no end. Granted I never died, but it took forever.

The dragon never froze me - he just used the Create Ice Projectile spell (the one which creates the carpet-like field of snow). He also did throw me around every now and then - I suspect he was biting me. I just whacked him with my sword and spells.
As for the sword and egg, I never used the egg on the sword myself - I did try putting them next to each other in the ground and casting the Enchant Object spell, but Am Shaegar said "Something's wrong". I eventually told the snake queen what she wanted by giving her the Secret Dagger Pass and she (supposedly) casted the spell on my sword. Very peculiar.
