In short, (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61554) as this thread states, I'm stuck in Arx. To put it short, I've spent four days now looking for the dragon, since I need one of her eggs (so that the snake woman can cast her spells). I have no idea at all where to look for.

There may be an easier way to get there but this is how I had to do it.
Go to to the top level of Greu's cave. From their levitate to the other side of the cave (this was a little tricky). Once on the other side you will enter into a large cave with a levitate puzzle (levitating from rock to rock). Once you levitate to the last area you will see a ice barrier blocking a doorway. Use a fireball to melt away the ice and find the dragon!
So just be sure you have plenty of levitate spells (or have the runes for it) and a fireball spell.

Thanks again! I always thought there was something odd in Greu's cave, but I hadn't suspected the dragon being there.

No problem. It took me a while to find the dragon too. It didn't really give you any direction as to where to go.

That's what makes the game better than average. You actually needs to explore to find where and what to do.

I would agree with you up to a point. When you don't have any idea as to where to go or what to do next than maybe a hint or something would help out. 4 days to find the dragon caves would be rather annoying.

Incidentally if you're having problems levitating over, try standing on a stalacmite and then casting levitate. You'll kinda have to jimmy your way up it. Also make sure to pick one that is above the other side's lowest point.
Cheers,
Shodin

It's a pity you couldn't break to the surface, just for laughs.
I feel that the size of the overall gameworld is a tad small (although it is used well).

I tried levitating from the steps to the center pedestal and then up. No luck. It would have been cool though. This gameworld modelled on the 8 levels of Underworld should have (and maybe did have) another level. All the sewer doors under Arx which until 1.15 looked active. A book in the library said that the Ratmen lived in the sewers. Logical? I think a sewer level was planned and then discarded.

Found the dragon, beat it. Way too easy. I do agree that one fact I like about Arx is that you are not guided all along the game and told exactly what to do - something I missed in System Shock 2, for example. However, from time to time Arx seems to go to the exact other opposite - not giving even subtle hints. Even saying that it was an ice dragon I was after would've helped quite a bit. I was almost positive that the dragon was either somewhere in level seven or eight (the latter having a lot of heat and lava, and the former lots of unused space - the map was deceivingly empty).
Anyway, I'm stuck again. I'm going to venture a bit further, but in case I'm not succesful, I'll just ask this here. I believe I'm near the very end:
[spoiler]
Went into the Ylside Bunker and into Iserbius's hall. There he is, all happy and content with his tentacles. So I whack him into the head with my Meteorite Sword - which has the dragon egg spell casted on it - and nothing happens. Am Shaegar just whines that I'm doing something wrong. For curiosity, I tried to hurt him (Iserbius) with conventional weapons, too, but I get the same voice clip. Did the spell work?
I'm not exactly sure what to do now. The snake women left their temple after I sold Alia to them, but I can't seem to find them (although I haven't searched for them very extensively yet). I could use some vague hints at what to do now (perhaps what level to visit).
