i've got a character with all my magic skills as misc. skills (they're all <30, some <20). i've done all the duties i can find (Ald'ruhn, Sadeth Mora, and Balmora). When i ask for more duties, whomever i ask points me to the other ppl i've already finished all the duties i can for.
So i've done all the duties i can - yet i can't advance to Conjurer. Do i have to have a certain amount of skill in each magic skill, alchemy, and enchant? Thanks!

Yes you do
If you open up your character stats and hover the mouse over your Mage Guild affiliation, is will show you your current standing and I believe what skill levels you will need for the next level. Could be wrong on that though.
I know that after the first 3 levels maybe, that all guilds seem to require one or more stats to be 50 or more.
If you want to get far in a guild it's best to only join ones that focus on your primary stats.

Check with Ajira, the cat woman in Balmora. She might have a few quests you overlooked

Indeed, hovering over your faction information will show the requirements. If all your magic skills are miscelaneous you have a small problem. You can pay to train a skill high enough, but unfortunately you will not get any stat modifiers when you level up by training a misc skill. It's not a huge issue though, if you don't want to use the skill anyway you do not need a high governing attribute. :)
But if you think you need to raise the governing attribute, you'll have to get some field practise. :) Very tedious for a misc skill.
