Well, it is larger. I'm just not convinced that the increased details are an improvement. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't speak "stucco" to me. And the color is wrong ...
This is the OM T2 Church Stucco (converted from pcx to jpg for posting):

This is the T1 Church Stucco:

Edit: ref. (

They are all very different, but each somehow looks like stucco. There is a roughness of texture that is missing for me in Wille's take and it looks too "painted"..

To me the original texture doesn't look like stucco at all. Many texture names are just names. I think we should find out how they are implemented in the game itself. This texture seems to be used mainly for floors and thus my "cut from stone" approach. I could improve the material effect though since it's now maybe a bit blurry. Colors should match the T1 variant and I added some highlights to make the 3d effect pop out more.

It looks like someone's been fingerpainting on it.

:D
I used the original texture as background to get colors and details right. But yeah, the result isn't optimal. So back to drawing board it is (literally since I use Wacom Intuos :p).

Yeah, while we aim to be precise with colors, that doesn't necessarily mean we should preserve the blotchy 256 color dithering artifacts.
The hammers look quite odd in the color department too - try to desaturate the colors a bit in the more shadowed parts, maybe.
Other than that, looking great to my eyes. :thumb:

I like that much more.
But what are we doing about the difference between T1 and T2 textures with the same fam / same names? Different HD packs?

The EP has always had T1-specific files under the Thief1 dir. They should be set to override the other models/textures for Thief 1.
