Blame on both sides for this one- the US for shipping him over (won't even go there, I have no civil comments about that), the RCMP for giving the US inaccurate information about him and the Canadian government for dragging their feet getting him back until they were sure he was innocent.

I thought the days of witch hunts were long past; silly me.
Quote:
the counsel for the commission, Paul Cavalluzzo, said the results show that the U.S. practice of renditions "ought to be reviewed."
No; that practice ought to be abolished - period. Along with the CIA. And GWB ('k- he can only be impeached, but you get my point) and all his buddies and toadies.
I say 'Bravo!' to Italy and Germany. The CIA has had way too much power and influence for the past couple of decades.
Have to warn my friends not to show up on my front doorstep all dressed in black wearing masks. :weird:

I am completely disgusted that the Arar case is only recently news to the Americans. This has been in our papers for years.

We are talking about Canada. It's the large country directly north of the USA.

No, it was when he was in the USA he was arrested and sent to Syria for torture.
The Canadians told on him to the USA, but thats the extent of their stupidity.

And China has exactly what to do with all this?
PS: I know the story, as GBM said it's been news in NOTChina for many years.
