This game was really easy... I don't think it reflects the difficulty of running away and living in a whole different country at all.
It is after all a game and a flash one at that..but I'm sure it's based on what some people would go through in some countries. I didn't have any troubles getting out my homeland. Canada welcomes immigrants with open arms. I will likley become a citizen in another year, I think.

This isn't really to protest anything like an NGO's flash game might, like by Greenpeace or Amnesty Int'l.
This is by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees.
UNHCR are the people shipping in the plane-fulls of food to the refugee camps all over the world and group in charge of monitoring int'l refugee law, in the same way the Int'l Red Cross is in charge of the law over POWs.
It seems to me they are just trying to raise the issue's public profile, because it gets neglected, like most int'l issues, and specifically on the problems of immigration and amnesty to developed countries (easy to guess which ones it's targeting: US, UK, Sweden, Germany, Greece, & Norway).
I think it's rare for a UN body to advertise its issues in this way, though, for just this reason ... suddenly people start putting them in the same bag as Peta, which isn't fair to what this group is. But then again, maybe some people have never heard of UNHCR or that there actually is a refugee problem and have more awareness now, and UNHCR thought the benefit outweighed the cost.
It's touchy for the UN to do this because their one cash-cow is the perception of them being independent apolitical and technical. But then again, pretty much all the issues this flash game is dealing with are technical issues and not really that political. It's just the look of it is like a political bandstanding flashgame where you're in a boat saving sea turtles from shrimp boat nets. There's an argument for it being a good or bad thing they did this, depending on whether you care more about it raising awareness vs. arguably cheapening the UNHCR's credibility.

You mean I should feel guilty for not playing a flash game?
No, Liberal Guilt means you should be feeling guilty for living in civilized country with access to education, healthcare, and neighbours who don't want to blow your head off, while there are people out there who live in muddy huts. And that's terrible and probably your fault.

HAY I HEARD THERE WERE STRAWMEN IN THIS TOPIC
Also, "All people have the same value, regardless of their sexuality."
The UN contradicts the Republicans again. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG

Koki, I don't think that works in the information age. Nevertheless there are a lot of people I care about.

1)You're too poor for a plane ticket
2)Boat is full
3)Walking=mines=no no.
4)Truck is ok...
1 & 2 - you are trapped in plain sight, bad choice.
3 - too slow, risks accumulate.
4 - ... well there is no other choice left. It also keeps option 3 as backup.
But granted - too lazy of them to just show some stupid fuzzy one-liner. Also, the situation was badly described IMO.
