well, I tried to fight off the oncoming troops in the Ton's hotel, but I always ended up dead (or caputured) from trying. I wonder if the story line would change if I acutally killed "all" of the troops that just match into paul's room?

I could answer this, but I don't, coz you wrote it in general discussion/no spoilers.
But it was nice to talk about
If you really want to know, do a search "paul ton save" or so.. or ask the same in the spoiler section.

I guess I'll ask: is it really worth it to save him? If he dies you get an extra 500 skill points. I've only played this game through once or twice, and always let him die. I've entertained saving him, but only if it's worth, say, an aug upgrade or over 500 skill point down the road. Seems to me the whole point of the game is to let him die at the hotel anyway, since you can't NOT send the signal and tell him to go fuck himself and all his NSF buddies. And so on...

MWHBH, you're an idiot.

forget the skill points!
He is important for the ending!
He ist important for the story.
He's your brother!
He's neutral! (if you forget the institutions he works for).
If you really need skill points or money to save your brother (which is not more difficult than to kill him) then you maybe need another game?
Deus Ex is more thiefish than quakey. :sneakingsmiley:

For the movie it would be a better idea to have Paul die.
For better dramatic impact of course.

always save Paul (well, get knocked out trying to save him), so i've never had an ending without him. My question is - do you still get the Helios ending option (which I presume you do)? If so, who informs you of the events in Hong Kong?
I really should let Paul die next time I play... :ebil:
