I joined House H and want to join Redoran and Telvanni too - to do their quests. Is there a way to do this. Right now, Neminda in Ald Ruhn just keeps telling me I can't join Redoran if I am with Hlaau.
Also, a side question: C Curio in Vivec keeps telling me he has no business for me right now, even though I've done all the previous quests for his underlings. Any suggestions? Hints?
Thanks!!!!

:nono: 1 HOUSE ONLY 111111111111111111111
You can only join one house at a time in Morrowind (aside from some odd occurences when u get a rank in House H - if your not already a member)
Sorry your stuck with House H
House H - Thief skills
House R - Fighter skills
House T - Mage skills
If Crassius is saying he has nothing for you it may be that you need to build a stronghold or increase your shill levels.
Hope that helps, if your unsure about what ive said . . . . tough cos i don't know how to explain any better ;)

Well, that's a bummer. I don't want to start over with a new character just for that. Hmmm, there has GOT to be a way around that? Can I use the consule to get House Hlaau off my character?
Forsythe on 9/2/2004 at 21:55
It'd be easier to use the console to join another House. I think it'd be PCJoinFaction "Telvanni" (or whatever). Careful though, the Houses are in contention and so there are some missions from each House that you won't be able to fulfill unless you use the console extensively to break things in your favor.
Me, I played the game all the way thru three times (well, 7 or 8 at last count) so I could play all three Houses. Using a different character each time, it was quite interesting.

I'm not too big on Great Houses. I joined Hlaalu once, only because its stronghold was close to home. But now I prefer making my own houses, like my beautiful Castle Matrix ^.^

Hmmm. Well, I'm not big on using the console if I don't have to. But I don't want to go through the main quest all over again just to do the other house quests...I'll have to think about this one, I guess. I do have another character saved. I guess I could just use her to join another house and then save that game under something else. Yeah, that'd work...sorry, thinking out loud.
Okay, another newbie dumb question. Stronghold? Castle? You can build this stuff? Is this something you get into with the expansion packs or is this in the main game? I haven't figured out any of this yet. Please explain if it's not too much trouble.
Thanks!

No problem, each House has one Stronghold that the player can have built if they advance high enough in the House in question. The Stronghold is already designed, so you can only decorate it with things you can schlep in via your inventory. On the other hand, using the Construction Set (or whatever its name is) you can create whatever you like, and that's what people w/ time on their hands tend to do. If you like, you can even make doors from every major city that lead to your place (which I suspect is what Ryushi was hinting at), so you cut down tremendously on trekking around.
Oh btw, it's too late w/ this char as you've already joined Hlaalu, but if you start over/whatever, you can do all the non-House quests, save, and then use that savegame as a launching-off point to try each House's quests.

Thanks for the speedy reply, Forsythe. I will have to figure that out (the stronghold thing). One more question? Is it something that someone will OFFER me at some point, or do I just kind of go ahead and do it...
To store all my stuff, I've been using Cosades house. It's vacant since he - uh - got deported. :cheeky:
Love your idea on the character/great house quests. I wish I'd thought of it with this character, but I have another old one that I can use for this. Thanks!

You are offered a quest to create the Stronghold. Then later on you upgrade it a couple of times, making it bigger and better.

Thanks again!
