I have T2 installed on another computer which has both WIN98SE and XP as a dual boot. Thief is actually installed in 98 but I access it through XP. Here's the situation. I have now a WS LCD monitor and would need to change the resolution to meet those requirements for it. It has only one processor so I really wouldn't need the DDFix for it unless it wouldn't work without it? Also, I don't think the modified "T2.exe" would be required if I can only use the WS patch for this or would it?
I bought a KVM with audio port so I could share those periferals(sp?) between my two systems. Is this possible? What would be the steps required for that set-up?
If the WS patch could be used alone and I have many older games on that system, could the patch be put in them so they could be played without distortion or am I stuck with basically unplayable games? I'm very close to regretting I bought this monitor. :(
I'm not even sure if my bindings are going to work in the other machine (when I get it back) due to the problems I'm having currently in this machine, related to keyboard binds. But that's in my other thread.
Thank you for any replies. :)

And you don't want to use DDFix because... why?

My reasons were stated in the first message. I don't have the need for it, etc. as far as I can tell unless it has to have it to make the WS patch work. They are independent of each other to my understanding. My only concern is about being able to use the WS patch by itself for my other older system but will be using my WS monitor. Thank you.

Here is an excerpt from the Widescreen mod for Dark Engine games:
Quote:
Installation Requirements:
- System Shock 2 (version 2.3) or
- Thief (version 1.33) or
- Thief Gold (version 1.37) or
- Thief 2 (version 1.18) or
- Demos of SS2, T, TG or T2 or
- One of four different versions of DromEd
-
No SafeDisc copy protectionHave a look at the bold text - you will have to use modified (i.e. unprotected) Thief2.exe file in order to patch it with the Widescreen mod. BTW, the main purpose of DDFix is to fix DX10+ graphics cards' visual artifacts (defects) in 16-bit screen modes, its multi-core fix is just a bonus :).
As for other your games: Weak-ling's Widescreen mod won't work with them, so you will have to find widescreen solutions on your own. Try to search "widescreen gaming" and so on.

Well OK MoroseTroll, I do thank you for the info although am disappointed I can't use it in other games..would have been a really nice option.
So then I apparently need the two fixes...WS patch and the modified T2.exe plus I assume I need to modify the cam.cfg file for the resolution size I'm going to need. I'm afraid I did make a big mistake buying this darn monitor as nice as it is, it's cutting into my game playing! :(
