I'm interested in Morrowind but I'm not sure how it will run or if it will run on my system. I have a P3 550 with 256 RAM and I'm getting a GF4 Ti4200. I know I can't have all the bells and whistles turned up with this system but can I get a decent playable experience? Anyone else out there playing it on a similar system?
Thanks!

I tried to play Morrowind on my P3 550, but it was a real disaster.
If you want to run Morrowind more smooth you need at least 800MHz and a nice videocard.
But you can play morrowind with everything on low and a resolution of 640x480 and if you don't mind that the game will freeze sometimes for a few minutes.

I play Morrowind on a P3 667 with 256 RAM and a GF4 TI4400, and it runs pretty well under the following conditions:
-resolution:1024x768
-realtime shadows off
-a very low viewdistance.
In large and crowded citys the game slows down a bit, and there are quite a few loading screens, but I don't see that as a big problem.
The overall performance is good.

I have a friend who plays with a 1GHz Duron, 128MB RAM and a G400 vidcard. Last time he popped here for a little LANing the game seemed to run ok on 800x600 res with no realtime shadows and about a 20% viewing distance.
After that I disabled the pixel shading meself and was very positively surprised by the load times. They dropped really short and I havent missed the sweet sweet morrowind water enough to enable pixel shading again (my specs: 1GHz, 320RAM, GF4-Ti4200 128MB).
I suggest you loan the game from someone and see how it runs on your comp. Smooth gameplay differs for everyone.
