Lack of capitals ftw.

pfft who needs caps
WHO?
a quick google reveals that it may not be possible, or at least you would have to stuff around with a lot of files to get it to work

wow I never realized this existed, will be trying it to run some legacy stuff

Mate, Microsoft actually do some interesting things occasionally. I've got a Ubuntu bash environment running on my Win10 install, courtesy of MS. Mostly for shits & giggles, and to help troubleshooting Linux stuff for work when I need to, but it's there as a bona fide, Microsoft-provided option.

The first order of business is, of course, just trying it and seeing what happens. Then check over at pcgamingwiki for specific known fixes.

You may also want to try asking over at vogons.org if you still have trouble. Getting old games running is that site's entire raison d'être.
I don't really recommend looking into XP mode except as a last resort; running major 3D games in a virtual machine usually isn't the best experience.
If you're thinking of getting the game on GOG, they will support it, patch it for compatibility, and refund you if you still have trouble. So there's always that route if you don't already have a disc.
... this thread should also be over in the "Technical & Troubleshooting Arena" forum.
