Today the Beeb ran an (
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4738536.stm) article on a (hardcore elite) of fans threatening to boycott Bond because they're not keen on Daniel Craig as the new Bond.
And here he is:

http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/663/bondjamesbond1lv.jpgI've always though that Connery was perfect as Bond for the 60s. I was sceptical of Brosnan at first but I've since come to think he was perfect as Bond for the 90s.
Craig is going one of two places: Advanced eyebrow acting territory as hammed up by Moore or a grittier, darker bond with less gadgets, less flash and less panache. But where's the fun in that?
Disclaimer for Stronts: The fact that he's from Liverpool is not an issue here. >:)

I'm hoping he'll do well, as I do like him and thought he was fantastic in Layer Cake.
I am a little :weird: that there is going to be a blonde Bond, but we'll see, he may be great :D

I'm not familiar with this actor... he seems handsome enough, but James Bond has always been dark-haired. Blondes have a different aura about them, in men just as in women. Lighter? Less threatening? Less serious? (Apologies to all you scary, dangerous blond men out there ;) ) Of course Sean will always be THE Bond, but my favorite was Timothy Dalton, because he was so damned HOT, and also because he's gay. I liked the idea of a gay man playing Bond.

Course not ;)
Anyway, he's from Hoylake really, which is technically Wirral, not Liverpool. Although I used to tease my Hoylake-born ex about the fact that she had a stronger Scouse accent than I did.
Umm, back on topic, I think he'll be a really good Bond. Like David says, he put in a stirring performance in Layer Cake, plus he's boned Sienna Miller and Kate Moss... what more could you ask for?

Uh, are you sure :weird: cos it might come as some surprise to his wife.

I'm waiting for them to cast Michael Caine.

I have faith in Daniel Craig's ability to front a two hour advert.

I think Craig will make a fine Bond. I don't see his hair being any kind of serious obstacle, and the fact that he looks harder than the last 4 bonds put together means he could conceivably bring back some of the Connery mean-streak. At least he will be different.
Wasn't Bond in the books blonde?
That bbc article links to a website that for all we know was made by 1 guy. I know it cites some damning poll results but I still think it's a mistake of the bbc to give them so much publicity. The bbc does have a video interview with Craig from the announcement.

He was probably blond. Being a man, and not a woman.
