I don't know anything about acoustic guitars. I only own one, inherited from my grandfather. Ibanez makes decent quality electrics, even in the low-end of the price spectrum, so I would assume that their acoustics hold up as well.

The Ibanez dreadnaught will serve you fine as an entry level guitar. I have plenty of students who have bought them, and have no complaints.
